Aeronaut is designed with privacy as a core principle. We only remove data from your device where it is absolutely necessary to provide the features that you expect, and even then we avoid retaining it for any longer than needed.
Your posts, messages, and account details don’t leave your devices except in the very limited and essential cases listed below.
What Data Leaves Your Device
- Authentication data: We use a server to securely connect your Bluesky account to the app. Your Bluesky handle may be sent to this server so that your account host’s login form can be pre-populated with your account details but the handle is not stored. No other identifying information is transmitted to or stored by our authentication server.
- Push notification identifiers: To provide push notifications to your devices we may need to transmit your Bluesky account ID to a server and store it so that we can identify events that relate to your account to notify you about.
- iCloud sync data: If you’re signed into iCloud, some app settings and preferences may sync across your devices using your private iCloud account.
What We Don’t Do
- We don’t track individual users or collect analytics data.
- We don’t send personal information to our servers beyond what’s necessary for core functionality as detailed above.
- We don’t share, sell, or monetize your data in any way.
- We don’t access your Bluesky account email or any data beyond what’s necessary for the app to function.
Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect any data that is sent to or stored on our servers.
